Hardware questions
Do you sell POS hardware?
No. GetJewelryPOS is software; you buy hardware from any supplier. That keeps prices honest and lets you use what you already own.
Will my existing receipt printer work?
Most USB and network thermal receipt printers work through the browser’s printing or a print helper. Test it in the free trial before buying anything new.
Which label printer prints jewelry tags?
A thermal-transfer label printer that takes narrow jewelry “barbell” or “dumbbell” tags. Check the tag width the printer supports, and print a test tag in the trial.
Does the scale connect to the POS?
Staff weigh the piece and type the weight, which is the usual practice for gold. The POS can also read weight from barcodes printed by label weighing scales.
Can I use an iPad as the register?
Yes. Any modern tablet with a browser works. For receipts, pair it with a network or Bluetooth printer that supports your tablet.
Which card machine do I need?
The one your bank or card processor provides. GetJewelryPOS works with your processor; it does not process cards itself or take a share of your card fees.
Do I need a separate computer for the repair bench?
Not necessarily. A tablet or phone is enough to update job statuses and add photos at the bench.
What internet speed do I need?
An ordinary shop broadband or 4G connection is enough. Keep a mobile hotspot as a backup for outages.
