Jewellery POS software for gold and diamond shops in the UAE

GetJewelryPOS is hosted point-of-sale software for UAE jewellery shops, from a single counter in a souk to a group of showrooms. Price gold by gram and karat at the rate you enter each morning, add making charges and stone value, show 5% VAT inside the price, take old gold in exchange, and keep every diamond's certificate tied to its sale.

How jewelry is sold in United Arab Emirates

UAE jewellery retail centres on a few famous markets and a long line of mall showrooms. Dubai's Gold Souk in Deira, by the Creek, packs small shops selling 22K, 21K and 18K pieces by weight. The Gold and Diamond Park off Sheikh Zayed Road serves buyers looking for diamonds and custom work. Abu Dhabi's main cluster is the Madinat Zayed Gold Centre, and Sharjah's Central Souk keeps its jewellery shops under the blue-tiled roof by the lagoon.

Gold is sold by the gram, and the customer sees weight, karat, the day's rate and the making charge on the bill. Shops follow the daily rate published for the market and change it as the price moves. Diamond jewellery usually carries a lab certificate, and buyers from the Gulf, South Asia and Europe expect the details on their tax invoice. Old gold exchange is routine: a customer brings in an old chain, the shop weighs it, deducts for purity and puts the value against a new piece.

VAT at 5% applies to jewellery, and retail prices are normally shown VAT-inclusive. Gold of investment grade is treated differently from finished jewellery, and dealer-to-dealer gold trades have their own rules, so your accountant decides which tax group each item uses. Selling seasons follow Ramadan and the two Eids, Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya for the large Indian community, the winter wedding season and the Dubai Shopping Festival. WhatsApp is where most customers ask about a design or a price.

Jewelry POS in United Arab Emirates: questions

Does GetJewelryPOS handle UAE VAT?

Yes. You set tax rates and tax groups, show prices inclusive of 5% VAT, and print the VAT amount on each tax invoice. Your accountant decides which items fall under which group, and the tax report totals them.

Can it price gold by gram and karat?

Yes. Enter today's rate per gram for 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K, and each item is priced as weight times rate plus making charge and stone value. The software does not fetch or quote a live rate; you enter it.

Does it handle old gold exchange?

Yes. The old piece is recorded as a purchase from the customer with weight, karat and your deduction, and the value is offset against the new sale on the same receipt.

Can receipts be in Arabic?

Yes. Receipt and invoice text can be translated and edited, so you can print in Arabic, English or both. Each location can use its own invoice layout.

Can customers pay in instalments?

Yes. Take a deposit, reserve the piece, record each payment with its own receipt, and track the balance on the customer account. Due and overdue reports show who still owes.

Can I store diamond certificate details?

Yes. Each piece can carry its lab, report number, carat, colour, clarity and cut in custom fields, and scanning the tag brings up the certificate with the item.

Do you process card payments in the UAE?

No. GetJewelryPOS works with your bank's card terminal. You keep your merchant agreement, and the POS records the card amount against the sale.

Can I show prices in other currencies for tourists?

Yes. Each business can display multiple currencies, so a tourist can see an equivalent alongside AED. Sales are still recorded in your business currency.

Can I send customers updates on WhatsApp?

The POS sends SMS and email notifications from templates, for example when a repair is ready. Many UAE shops then follow up on WhatsApp from their own phone; the Showroom Bundle adds marketing automations for follow-ups.
