In short

The gold prices and calculations on this site are worked examples, not live rates or financial advice. Comparisons with other products use public information on the date shown. Tax notes are general, not tax advice. Other companies' names and marks belong to their owners.

What this page is for

This page explains how to read the information on getjewelrypos.com. We write our guides, examples and comparisons carefully, and we check them against how the software behaves. But a website cannot know your shop, your market or today’s rate. Please use what you read here as a starting point and check anything that affects money, tax or the law with the right person.

This disclaimer works together with our Terms of Service, which govern the service itself.

Gold prices and calculations are examples

Every gold price and calculation on this site is a worked example. It is not a live rate, a quote, an offer to buy or sell metal, or financial or investment advice.

When we show how a price is built, for example weight × the rate for that karat + making charge + stone value, we use an example rate chosen to make the arithmetic easy to follow. We label it as an example. The real rate moves through the day and differs between markets, dealers and the sarafa or souk you buy from.

The same applies to:

  • Unit conversions. We use standard figures, such as 1 tola = 11.664 g and karat purities such as 22K at 91.6%. Some local trades use slightly different tola, masha or ratti values, or round purity differently. Use the figures your trade and your customers expect.
  • Making charges, wastage and deductions. Examples show one way to charge. Practice varies by city, item and shop.
  • Old gold exchange. Example deductions are illustrations only. Testing, melting loss and purity are for you to assess.

Inside the software, you enter today’s rate yourself. GetJewelryPOS does not fetch, publish or quote a live gold rate, and you are responsible for the rates, weights, purities and charges you enter and for the prices that result.

Comparisons with other products

Our comparison pages and articles describe other point-of-sale products using public information we could find on the date stated on the page, such as published pricing pages, feature lists and help documents. Where a competitor price appears, it is marked with the date we checked it.

Other companies change their prices, plans and features without telling us. So:

  • a comparison may be out of date by the time you read it;
  • we may have missed a feature that exists but is not described publicly;
  • the right choice for your shop depends on your own needs.

We try to be fair and to say where another product is stronger. Please check the other company’s own website before you decide. If you represent a product we mention and something we wrote is wrong, tell us through the contact page with a public source and we will review and correct it.

Tax information is general

Our pages mention sales tax in the United States, VAT in the United Arab Emirates and sales tax in Pakistan, and how the software records tax rates and tax groups. This is general information to help you set up the software. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice.

Tax rules change, depend on your location, product and business type, and are interpreted by the authorities in your country or state. Links to official sources, such as the UAE Federal Tax Authority or Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue, are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites. Before you set tax rates, file returns or advise customers, talk to a qualified accountant or tax adviser in your market.

The same goes for trade rules, such as karat marking, gemstone disclosure, layaway and instalment rules, and consumer protection laws. We may point to guidance, but you remain responsible for following the rules where you trade.

Guides, help articles and examples

Our help articles and blog posts describe typical workflows, such as taking a repair in at the bench, opening a layaway plan or printing barbell tags. Screens, menu names and steps may change as the software is improved. Sample data, store names and customer names in screenshots and examples are made up.

Results such as time saved or stock accuracy depend on how each store uses the software. We do not promise a particular business result.

Trademarks and third-party names

GetJewelryPOS and its logo are our marks. Other product, company and brand names on this site belong to their owners. This includes card brands, payment methods, gemological laboratories, marketing platforms, e-commerce platforms and point-of-sale products we compare with.

We use these names only to describe compatibility, to identify a product in a fair comparison or to point you to an official source. It does not mean those owners endorse us, partner with us, or have reviewed our content, unless we say so plainly.

We link to other sites, such as standards bodies, tax authorities and laboratory report-check pages, because they are useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Errors and corrections

We work to keep this site accurate, but mistakes happen. If you spot one, please tell us through the contact page or press the Show email button there. We will check it and correct the page where needed, and update the date it shows.

Limits of responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on general information on this website, as opposed to the service we provide under our Terms. Nothing on this page limits any right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
