Jewelry POS data security, explained like a display case

GetJewelryPOS keeps jewelry store data safe in layers: encrypted connections, separate logins, role permissions, an activity record, automatic backups every 24 hours, and a clear way to take your data with you. We claim no certifications; here is what we actually do.

  1. 01 · Glass

    Encrypted in transit

Every page and app screen loads over HTTPS, so data between your counter and the server is encrypted on the way.

  2. 02 · Lock

    Your own logins

Each person has their own login. Shared passwords at the counter are the commonest leak; separate logins also mean the audit trail shows who did what.

  3. 03 · Keys

    Roles and permissions

Decide who can discount, void, see cost, edit products, export data or close the register — per shop.

  4. 04 · Ledger

    Activity you can check

Sales, edits, stock adjustments and register closes are recorded with the user and time, so mismatches can be traced.

  5. 05 · Vault

    Backups every 24 hours

The database is backed up automatically on a schedule and kept separately from the live server.

  6. 06 · Door

    Your data leaves with you

Export products, customers and sales whenever you like; after cancelling you have 30 days to export before deletion.

Shared responsibility

What is your side of security?

Software can’t stop a shared password written on the till. These five habits matter more than any feature list.

  1. One login per person — never share the owner login.
  2. Give new staff the smallest role that lets them work.
  3. Log out of shared tablets at close; set a device passcode.
  4. Review discounts, voids and stock adjustments weekly.
  5. Export your data monthly and keep a copy you control.

What we don’t claim

No PCI, SOC 2, ISO or similar certification is claimed for GetJewelryPOS. Card processing is done by your own provider. Uptime is not guaranteed by a numbered service level; when there is an issue, the status page (once live) will say so: Service status.

Security and data questions

Where is GetJewelryPOS data hosted?

On cloud servers run by the GetJewelryPOS team, not on a computer in your shop. Your data is reachable from any device you log in on, and the server is maintained and updated for you.

Does GetJewelryPOS store card numbers?

No. Card payments go through your own processor’s terminal; the POS records that a card payment was made and its amount, not the card number.

Is GetJewelryPOS PCI or SOC 2 certified?

We do not claim any certification. Card data never passes through GetJewelryPOS, so card security sits with your processor. We describe our practices plainly on this page instead.

How often is my data backed up?

Automatically every 24 hours, kept apart from the live server. You can also export your own copies at any time.

Who at GetJewelryPOS can see my data?

Only staff who need to — for example to help with an import you asked for, or to fix a problem you reported. We do not sell or share your store’s data.

Can I limit what staff can see?

Yes. Roles can hide cost prices, supplier details and reports, and limit each user to their own shop. Owners see everything.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You can export it for 30 days after cancelling. After that it is deleted from the live system, and from backups as they cycle out.

Who owns the customer data in my POS?

You do. You are responsible for your customers’ data under your local privacy law; we process it on your behalf to run the software. Details are in the privacy policy.
