Accessibility Statement

In short

We build this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. An accessibility widget lets you enlarge text, raise contrast, reduce motion and highlight links. Some parts still fall short, and we list them here. Report any barrier through our contact page and we will reply within 5 business days.

Our goal

We want every jeweler, staff member and shopper to be able to read and use getjewelrypos.com, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, published by the W3C. You can read the standard itself on the W3C WCAG 2.2 page.

“Target” is the honest word. We test against the standard while we build, but we have not had a formal third-party audit, and we do not claim certification. Where we know we fall short, we say so below.

What we do to meet it

  • Structure. Pages use real headings in order, landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and lists, so screen readers can jump around a page.
  • Text alternatives. Product screenshots and diagrams that carry meaning have written descriptions. Gold calculation examples are written out as text, not only shown as images.
  • Color and contrast. Body text and controls are designed to meet AA contrast in both light and dark themes and in every accent palette. Color is never the only way we show meaning; status and errors also use words or icons.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label. Errors are described in words next to the field and announced to screen readers. The bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) usually runs without a puzzle.
  • Touch targets. Buttons and links are sized for fingers, including the sticky mobile bar.
  • Zoom and reflow. Pages work at 200% zoom and on narrow phone screens without sideways scrolling.

The accessibility widget

Every page has an accessibility button. It opens a small panel where you can:

  • Change text size across the site.
  • Increase contrast for text, borders and buttons.
  • Reduce motion, which stops animations and transitions. The site also follows your device’s “reduce motion” setting automatically.
  • Highlight links, so every link is underlined and easy to spot.

Your choices are saved on your own device (see gjp-a11y in our Cookie Policy) and apply on every page until you reset them. The widget is an extra, not a replacement for your own tools. The site is built to work with screen readers, browser zoom and system settings without it.

Keyboard use

You can use the whole site with a keyboard:

  • Tab and Shift + Tab move between links, buttons and fields. A visible focus ring shows where you are.
  • A Skip to content link is the first stop on every page.
  • Menus, the cookie banner, dialogs and the accessibility panel open and close with Enter, Space and Escape. Focus moves into a dialog when it opens and returns to where you were when it closes.
  • Nothing traps the keyboard, and nothing changes just because an element receives focus.

Right-to-left languages

Our Arabic and Urdu pages are laid out right to left. Text direction, navigation order, icons that point a direction, and form fields are mirrored so they read naturally. Numbers, prices and gold weights stay in the order readers expect. Each page declares its language so screen readers use the right voice.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you than let you find out the hard way:

  • Localized pages are limited. Our Arabic, Urdu and Spanish versions cover the home, pricing and contact pages only. Feature pages, help articles, the blog and these legal pages are in English for now.
  • Decorative icons. The site uses many small decorative icons and animations. They are hidden from screen readers on purpose because they repeat nearby text. If you find one that carries meaning but has no text alternative, please tell us.
  • Third-party parts. The Cloudflare Turnstile check and any embedded content from other providers are outside our direct control. If Turnstile blocks you, contact us another way and we will help.
  • The app is separate. This statement covers the public website. The GetJewelryPOS app, where stores sell, has its own interface; we are working through it screen by screen and welcome reports about it too.
  • PDFs and downloads. Some older downloadable guides may not be fully tagged. Ask and we will send the content in an accessible format.

Tested with

We check pages with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, automated contrast and markup checkers, and screen readers including VoiceOver on macOS and iOS and NVDA on Windows. Automated tools catch only part of the problems, so we also do manual checks on key pages: home, pricing, contact and the main feature pages.

Report a barrier

If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Use the form on our contact page and choose the subject that fits best, or press the Show email button there to see our address. It helps to include:

  • the page address (URL)
  • what you were trying to do
  • what went wrong
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use

We will reply within 5 business days. If the fix takes longer, we will tell you what we plan to do and when, and in the meantime we will get you the information you need another way, such as by phone, WhatsApp or a plain-text version.

Updates

We review this statement whenever we make significant changes to the site and at least once a year. The date at the top shows the latest version.
